A warm welcome and a great start
To make our new trainees’ transition into the working world as pleasant and educational as possible, we once again held our traditional trainee orientation days during the first week of September this year.
The kickoff event was attended by Katharina Weber, Head of Training and Human Resources; Leon Rotter (a trainer from the Customer Management department); and the experienced second- and third-year apprentices (Lea Keilmann and Shari Ilea Geppert). Our board member, Maribel Soto Sobrino-Bahri, also personally welcomed the new trainees.
Here’s what the orientation days were like
- Day 1
After the welcome, the day began with an icebreaker session at the Kassel location. To break the ice right away and help everyone get to know each other, everyone played an icebreaker game together. Afterward, important documents such as the training plan and guidelines were discussed. During the lunch break, we enjoyed delicious bowls, and in the afternoon, we set up technical access (tokens, time tracking, and vacation planning), among other things. - Day 2
The second day began with addressing any remaining questions and presenting various guidelines. In addition to data protection training and the signing of the declarations of commitment, there was also a comprehensive onboarding session on our additional benefits and a photo shoot. After the lunch break, we covered additional onboarding topics, an introduction to the online SGB, and the Academy website. - Day 3
On the third day, we had an introductory session at the branch office in Melsungen.
After an intensive first week of orientation, the trainees hit the ground running the following week: They headed to the BKK Academy in Rotenburg for the kick-off week to prepare themselves as best as possible for the practical training ahead.
