The standard national reduced contribution rate without entitlement to sickness benefit of percent is decisive. The general contribution rate for pensioners and persons entitled to sickness benefit is 14,6 percent. In both cases, there is also the additional BKK W&F contribution (since 2025: 3,99 percent).

A minimum of 2025 and a maximum of 5.512,50 are recognized as income.

Example for the year 2025:

Health insurance with minimum contribution without entitlement to sickness benefit: euros x total contribution rate of (+3,99=) percent = euros

The contribution rate for long-term care insurance is expected to be percent from 2025. For those without children who are at least 23 years old, a surcharge of percentage points will be added. This does not apply to anyone born before January 1, 1940.

Examples for the year 2025:

Minimum contribution to long-term care insurance with one child or under the age of 23: euros x percent = 47.46 euros

Minimum contribution to long-term care insurance without parental status: Euro x 4.2 percent = 55.38 Euro

Each additional child under 25 leads to a reduction in the contribution rate of 0.25 percent (maximum up to the 5th child).

Voluntary insurance is possible due to various constellations, e.g. after leaving family insurance or student health insurance.

Voluntarily insured individuals without an employer are responsible for paying their contributions to the health insurance fund themselves. Contributions are due on the 15th of the following month, e.g., for the month of January 2026, the due date is February 15, 2026. If you grant us a direct debit mandate, we will debit the contributions due from your account monthly on the due date. Please note that due to bank processing times, the debit will be made approximately 1 working day before the 15th. If you would like to transfer your contributions yourself, please ensure that the transfer is made in good time so that the contributions are credited to our account on the 15th. All income for living expenses is subject to contributions. This also includes the income of the spouse if he or she is not insured under the statutory scheme. If there is no higher income, 2025 contributions are calculated from euros. Contributions to health and long-term care insurance are provisionally determined for income from employment from self-employment and/or income from letting and leasing. The contribution assessment ceiling is 2025 a maximum amount of 5.512,50 euros. Please send us the relevant proof of income with your application (in particular your most recent income tax assessment notice).
