In recent years, the discussion about corruption and abuse in the healthcare sector has increased. Billing for services that were never provided, heart valve and dental prosthesis scandals, black marketing of insurance cards – in most cases, it is only individual cases that come to light. However, the extent of the damage caused by fraudulent behavior in the healthcare sector is not known and can at best only be estimated. What is certain, however, is that all those with health insurance have to pay for the financial consequences with their contributions.
The BKK W&F has a department to combat misconduct in the healthcare system. The task of this department is to identify those who abuse the structures in the healthcare system for their personal gain. To ensure that certain professional groups are not generally suspected, the anti-corruption office only investigates information on specific facts. You too can help here and report information to us via our whistleblower system.
This is how the whistleblower system works:
Anyone who notices anything suspicious in the handling of invoices with the statutory health insurance funds can and should provide information – regardless of whether you are an insured person or an employee of a service provider. The system is available around the clock. We guarantee the highest security standards. If you wish, you can remain anonymous as a whistleblower in all phases of your communication and dialog, as a mailbox has been set up so that you can communicate with us without having to disclose your name or contact details. Neither the provider of the whistleblowing system, Vispato GmbH, nor third parties can read the messages that you send to us via our whistleblowing system.
Submit a report – but do it right!
In order for your report to be processed and investigated appropriately, it is important that the report is as specific as possible.
It is helpful if you consider the five W questions in your report:
Who? What? When? How? Where?
As the person providing the information, please ensure that your descriptions can also be understood by non-specialists.
However, you can still send us your information by post, fax, e-mail or telephone.
