Domestic help

Participation in the costs for a household help is possible if the person insured with BKK W&F and normally managing the household

• has to go to hospital or
• can no longer run the household due to pregnancy problems or a serious illness and
• no one lives in the household who can take over the tasks.

As proof, we require a medical certificate stating the specific amount of support required. We will be happy to send you the necessary application for domestic help, but you can also find it in our online office.

How long household help is needed depends on the medical necessity and the individual situation.

The maximum duration at BKK W&F deliberately exceeds the statutory standard benefit: instead of only up to 4 weeks for single persons and up to 26 weeks for insured persons with a disabled child or under 12 years, BKK W&F contributes to the costs in both cases for up to 30 weeks – provided that this is medically necessary.

In addition to professional organizations, relatives or relatives by marriage up to the second degree – for example, parents, siblings or brothers/sisters-in-law – may also be considered for support. In this case, the BKK W&F will reimburse the loss of earnings due to unpaid leave up to a maximum amount of EUR 11.75 (2025) per hour.

Important: Insured persons from their 18th birthday onwards pay a contribution of 10 percent of the daily amount to be paid by the BKK W&F – at least EUR 5 and no more than EUR 10. If a domestic help is required due to pregnancy or childbirth, the insured person does not have to make any co-payments.
