- You perform your caregiving activity permanently (for more than two months) and on a non-commercial basis.
- In addition to caregiving, you are not employed or self-employed for more than 30 hours per week.
- You are not yet receiving a full old-age pension and have not yet reached the standard retirement age.
Requirements for the Payment of Unemployment Insurance Contributions
- You regularly care for one or more persons with care level 2 to 5 for at least two days per week and more than ten hours per week.
- You perform your caregiving activity permanently (for more than two months).
- You are not employed or self-employed.

Procedure
- The person in need of care submits an application to their long-term care insurance fund for long-term care insurance benefits.
- During a personal assessment of the person in need of care in their home environment, the Medical Service determines the scope of home care and registers the private caregivers.
- As soon as we receive the Medical Service’s report, we will send you, as a private caregiver, a questionnaire regarding pension and unemployment insurance obligations.
- If all requirements are met, you are automatically entitled to insurance.
Amount
The amount of contributions depends on the care level and the type of benefit received (care allowance, combined benefit, in-kind benefit) by the person in need of care.
