If you receive care from both a private individual and a nursing service, you can combine care allowance and in-kind care benefits. Combination care is particularly suitable when the primary care is organized by a close person (e.g., relatives), but certain aspects – such as morning hygiene – are to be provided by a nursing service. If the nursing service does not fully utilize its service budget and the private individual provides supplementary care, we will additionally pay a pro-rata care allowance.

Requirements

  • A care level of 2 to 5 is present.
  • Care and support are provided at home.
  • Care is provided by a private individual, for example, a relative or acquaintance.
  • An approved outpatient nursing service also provides part of the care.

Suitable Care Services

With the BKK Care Finder, you can specifically search for approved nursing services, retrieve information, and directly compare the various offers.

Amount

The amount depends on the care level. Discover all other benefits appropriate for your care level here.

Example for calculating the pro rata care allowance: If 40% of the benefits in kind for care level 2 have been used (= €318.40 of the total claim of €796), the care allowance can still be paid out in the amount of 60% (= €208.20 of the total claim of €347).
