With the care allowance, services from recognized care providers that enable an improvement in independence at home can be financed.
Options
The care allowance can be utilized for a wide range of services. These include, for example:
- Care services for the person in need of care, such as joint excursions, support for hobbies, memory training, shared cooking or reading aloud, but also driving or escort services, assistance with shopping planning and shopping, cleaning services, laundry care.
- Services to support caring relatives, assisting families in the care of disabled family members.
- Financing of personal contributions for a stay in day or night care and short-term care (e.g., for accommodation, meals, investment costs).
Requirements
- A care level from 1 to 5 is available.
- Care and support take place in your familiar environment, i.e., at home.
- Respite care is provided by a licensed care provider.
Amount
Regardless of the care level, you will receive a monthly relief amount of €131 from the BKK W&F.
Unused monthly care allowances can be saved and used collectively at a later date. For example, if you do not use any care services from January to March, a total amount of €524 will be available to you in April. Furthermore, it is possible to use the remaining claims of one year until June 30 of the following year.
Application
- With the BKK Care Finder, you can specifically search for approved care services, retrieve information, and compare the various offers.
- After you have utilized the care services, simply send the care provider’s invoice for reimbursement by mail to BKK W&F. Our address and a pre-paid envelope can be found here.
- Upon presentation of an assignment declaration, we will settle directly with the provider. You then do not need to worry about anything further.
