Take advantage of financial assistance for home care. We provide subsidies for home modifications that promote independent living, as well as for care supplies that make home care easier, such as disposable gloves.
Care aids
Under What Conditions Do You Receive Care Supplies?
- A care degree of 1 to 5 is present.
- The care and support takes place in your usual environment, i.e. at home.
How to get Care Supplies:
You can obtain care aids from contractual partners such as pharmacies and medical supply stores. We would be happy to provide you with contact details of contractual partners in your area. These providers have the necessary application forms and settle the costs directly with the BKK W&F. Alternatively, you can purchase the products yourself and submit the receipts to the long-term care insurance fund for reimbursement.
- Care supplies for single use, for example disposable gloves or disinfectants. We cover up to €42 per month for this.
- Care supplies for multiple use, for example washable bed protectors. We cover the actual costs for this, if applicable less the statutory co-payment.
Emergency call system
Under What Conditions Do You Receive a Home Emergency Call System?
- A care degree of 1 to 5 is present.
- The care and support takes place in your usual environment, i.e. at home.
- You live alone or are alone for large parts of the day.
- Due to your illness or care condition, it is not possible for you to get help independently in emergency situations, such as a fall.
How to get a Home Emergency Call System:
Contact a provider of in-home emergency response devices and sign a contract with them. Once we have received the provider’s documentation, we will review it to determine whether the requirements for a monthly subsidy of €27.00 (net) have been met.
For all other aids such as wheelchairs, walking aids or a nursing bed, simply submit the corresponding medical prescription to us.
Measures that Improve the Living Environment:
Under What Conditions Do You Receive Assistance for the Renovation of the Apartment?
- A care degree of 1 to 5 is present.
- The care and support takes place at home.
- The care is improved and facilitated by a renovation of the apartment, for example by converting a bathtub into a walk-in shower.
How to get Services that Improve your Living Environment
The prerequisite is that you submit an application and submit it to us together with a cost estimate from the craft business.
As soon as it has been clarified whether the requirements are met, we will support the home adaptation with up to €4,180 per measure. You will receive this subsidy without an income check. If several people in need of care use the conversion in a shared apartment, each individual is entitled to this subsidy. If several people in need of care live in a subsidized shared apartment, the total amount is limited to €16,720.
We also bear the costs of moving to a barrier-free apartment.
