Instead of hospital treatment, in addition to medical care, nursing care can be provided by specialists at home in familiar surroundings.
Home nursing care

Frequently asked questions
There are basically three forms of home nursing care:
- Treatment care (medical assistance)
- Basic care (e.g. help with personal hygiene)
- Domestic care (e.g. going shopping)
The BKK W&F bears the costs as a special additional service without any time limit, as long as treatment care is necessary.
The prerequisite is that no one lives in the insured person’s household who can provide care.
The statutory co-payment depends on the number of prescriptions and the duration of home nursing care. It amounts to ten euros per prescription and ten percent of the daily costs. This applies to a maximum of the first 28 days of home nursing care per calendar year. There is no co-payment for minors.
You need a doctor’s prescription for home nursing care. This can be issued by your GP practice.
Please give this prescription to your care service, which will then apply to us to cover the costs.
