Optional tariff premium payment

The amounts paid out depend on the period of participation:

• 160 euros in the first year*
• 200 euros in the second year*
• 240 euros from the third year*

* Maximum 1/12 of an annual contribution, § 53 paragraph 2 SGB V applies.

The earlier illnesses are recognized and treated, the greater the chances of recovery. The following preventive benefits therefore have no influence on the payment of the premium:

• Prevention services according to § 20 SGB V
• Vaccinations
• Health check-ups including check-ups for children
• Medical preventive services with the exception of outpatient preventive cures

Important: Participation in the bonus program or reimbursement within the “dental care budget” are not among the legally defined exceptions and therefore forfeit a premium payment.

The following conditions apply to the optional tariff premium payment:

• The prerequisite for premium payment is that you have been insured with us for more than three months in the calendar year in question.
• It is possible to join the tariff during the year, in which case the premium payment is calculated on a pro rata basis.
• If you do fall ill and claim benefits, you will not receive a premium for the year in question.
• The optional tariff is extended by one year unless you cancel the optional tariff one month before the end of the minimum commitment period or before the end of the extension period.
• Members whose contributions are paid by third parties cannot choose the optional tariff.

Participation in the optional tariff begins with the delivery of a separate notification of participation.
