Manual Diagnostics and Therapy – Supported by your BKK W&F

Osteopathy is the manual diagnosis and therapy of the musculoskeletal system, the internal organs and the nervous system. The treatment does not involve any apparatus, injections or medication. It is therefore considered a gentle and holistic healing method. The patient’s self-healing powers play a central role in osteopathy.

The therapy is designed to remove blockages and restore the balance of all body systems. Three sessions are often enough to achieve the desired results.

Frequently asked questions

Osteopathy is not a standard benefit of statutory health insurance funds. As a special additional benefit, the BKK W&F reimburses up to 360 euros per insured person per year (regardless of age) without percentage limitation or limitation per session of the invoice amount.

There are many therapists who offer osteopathic services. However, as the term is not protected by professional law in Germany, it says nothing about the qualification.

It is important for the disbursement of the subsidy from your BKK W&F that the osteopathic treatment has been prescribed by a doctor in advance and that the sessions are carried out by doctors, physiotherapists or alternative practitioners who

  • are a member of a professional association of osteopaths or
  • have completed training that entitles them to join a professional association.

If you are not sure whether the qualification is sufficient: Please ask us before starting a treatment whether we can recognize the cost coverage for the osteopath you have chosen.

The reimbursement documents must also be received by us by March 31 of the following year at the latest.
