Outpatient treatment (colloquially known as a “cure”) is a preventative measure. You stay at a state-recognized health resort. There you will receive spa treatments at a local health or spa center. During an outpatient treatment, you are considered fit for work, i.e. you are not on sick leave from a doctor. It will therefore usually be necessary for you to use your vacation time for this purpose.

Frequently asked questions

The application must be submitted before the start of the measure. We will be happy to advise you individually on the procedure and requirements.

Statutory health insurance companies generally cover the contractual costs of spa treatment, the cost of baths, massages and other medical treatments as well as medicines and dressings.

In addition to other costs such as accommodation, meals, visitor’s tax and travel expenses, the BKK W&F also pays a daily allowance of 16 euros (chronically ill children: 25 euros) as an additional benefit. The statutory co-payment for insured persons aged 18 and over is 10 percent of the costs of the therapeutic applications and 10 euros per prescription. A co-payment is also required for medicines and dressings.
