Prevention of premature birth

This program consists of the following contents:

• Immediately after the pregnancy is confirmed: Toxoplasmosis screening test
  The blood taken is tested for the presence of antibodies. Based on the test results, a discussion is held in the gynaecologist’s practice about the risks of toxoplasmosis at birth and how to avoid it, as well as the long-term consequences for the child if toxoplasmosis is acquired during pregnancy, and a discussion about the next steps and the necessary behaviour during pregnancy. If the initial test is negative, a second test can be carried out 8-10 weeks later.
• In the 13th to 20th week of pregnancy: examination and qualified microscopic assessment of a smear for bacterial vaginal colonization and consultation. .
• From the 28th week of pregnancy: U0 pregnancy consultation
  With the additional U0 service, you can make an appointment for a consultation at the pediatric and adolescent medical practice before the birth and clarify many questions about vaccinations, vitamin D and K prophylaxis, breastfeeding, nutrition, accident prevention and sleeping habits in advance.
• In the 35th to 37th week of pregnancy: anogenital smear test for streptococcus B bacteria
  If the result is positive, the further procedure for the delivery is discussed in a medical consultation on the risks and the avoidance of maternal and infant streptococcus B infection during the birth.

Pregnant members of the BKK W&F can take advantage of these special services free of charge directly at participating gynecological practices.

The program “BabyCare” program consists of

• a book
• a questionnaire and the offer of an individual evaluation of nutritional behavior
• an app including a due date calculator and 14 different self-tests

It can be ordered free of charge from the BKK W&F. To use the optional app, a code is required, which insured persons can find in the book or also request from us free of charge.
