Treatment using recognized psychotherapeutic methods
Psychotherapy is the treatment of psychological problems using recognized psychotherapeutic methods. Many of these methods rely on conversation. They help the person affected to regain mental strength. The doctor or psychological psychotherapist discusses with the patient whether and what professional help is necessary.
The aim is to cure the mental illness with the help of recognized procedures, to positively influence the course of the illness or to prevent the illness from becoming chronic. The following treatment methods are possible:
- Analytical psychotherapy
- Depth psychology-based psychotherapy
- Behavioral therapy
Scope of services
In many cases, the BKK W&F covers the costs of psychotherapy. A prerequisite is that the therapists have health insurance fund approval. The following therapists are therefore permitted to bill us:
- Doctors working in psychotherapy
- Licensed psychological psychotherapists
- Child and adolescent psychotherapists
Prerequisites
Psychotherapy usually begins with a referral from a GP or specialist. Only contract psychotherapists can also be consulted directly, but here too, billing is done directly via the health insurance card. A referral (consultation report) is required if treatment is provided by a therapist. If the treatment is provided by a psychotherapeutic doctor, no referral is necessary.
Note: When using non-medical psychotherapists, after the first (trial) sessions a general practitioner or specialist must clarify whether there are medical reasons against psychotherapy.
