The remedies that may be prescribed are set out in the so-called Remedies Directive. The Joint Federal Committee of doctors and health insurance companies decides which remedies are to be included. The specific measures are set out in the so-called Catalog of remedies.
Those with statutory health insurance contribute ten percent of the treatment costs plus 10 euros per prescription.
