Additional and standard benefits at a glance

Vaccination is the administration of a vaccine with the aim of protecting against a disease. It serves to activate the immune system against specific substances.

Frequently asked questions

BKK W&F covers the costs for all protective vaccinations recommended by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) directly via the health card.

These include, for example, vaccinations against diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough (pertussis), Haemophilus influenza type b (Hib), polio, hepatitis B, measles, mumps, rubella and rotavirus. We also recommend vaccination against viral flu (influenza) and pneumonia, especially for people over 60.

As a special additional benefit, the BKK W&F also contributes to the costs of the vaccines for many privately financed vaccinations, provided that these are recommended by a doctor. This includes, in addition to

  • Vaccination against human papillomaviruses (HPV, regardless of gender) and the
  • Vaccination against meningococcus B

in particular the following travel vaccinations:

  • Cholera
  • TBE
  • Yellow fever
  • Hepatitis A
  • Hepatitis B
  • Japanese encephalitis
  • Meningococcus C
  • Poliomyelitis
  • Rabies
  • Typhoid fever
  • Malaria prophylaxis

Vaccines are reimbursed without deduction of pharmacy and manufacturer discounts; possible costs for medical vaccination services are not reimbursed.

Note: Vaccinations for business trips abroad are legally the responsibility of the employer.
