Statutory health insurance funds are allowed to arrange private supplementary insurance. These are intended to cover benefits that statutory health or long-term care insurance cannot provide. It is not permitted to broker insurance policies without this connection, such as car or life insurance.
The brokerage is based on cooperation with private health insurance companies. In the case of BKK W&F, this is the case through agreements with cooperation partners such as Barmenia Krankenversicherung. The tariffs can be taken out individually or in combination. Insured persons decide for themselves which risks they want to cover and how much they want to spend on their additional protection.
