The BKK WIRTSCHAFT & FINANZEN (BKK W&F) was founded on October 1, 1999 and since January 1, 2007, it has been a statutory health insurance fund that can be chosen by anyone in many federal states.*
Our employees ensure the health coverage of more than 28,000 insured persons from all over Germany. Its headquarters are located in Melsungen, North Hesse. In neighboring Kassel, BKK W&F also has a similarly large branch.

* Note: Persons who reside in Schleswig-Holstein, Thuringia, Saxony-Anhalt or Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania at the time of their desired membership and do not work in another federal state cannot become a member of the BKK W&F. The basis for this is § 173 Para. 2 No. 4 of the fifth Book of the Social Code. Accordingly, company health insurance funds can only be selected in the federal states in which the former sponsoring company maintains a dependent branch, even after they have opened up to the general public. This is not the case with the BKK W&F (until December 31, 2006 BKK KPMG) with regard to the federal states mentioned. The subsequent relocation of the place of residence or work to one of these federal states has no effect on the membership. It will continue to exist and is not associated with any disadvantages under benefit law.
