Good working conditions strengthen professional motivation and personal health. In the care sector in particular, working conditions have an impact on nursing activities. Every person living in a nursing home must be cared for without violence or humiliation. This view is also held by AGP Social Research Freiburg. The project “Care in Bavaria – healthy and non-violent” was developed in cooperation with the Hans-Weinberger-Akademie der AWO e.V., Munich and the Munich University of Applied Sciences. Our BKK W&F has been supporting this project together with other health and long-term care insurance companies* since the beginning.
The project aims to create a healthy and non-violent living and working environment for inpatient care. Health-promoting working conditions are created in the workplace to protect employees from excessive demands, degrading behavior and humiliation. At the same time, the people living in the home are to be protected from degrading behavior and violence. The project also uses a toolbox consisting of good experiences, methods, interventions and measures in violence prevention to successfully implement the objectives. Over the course of the project, a handbook and a “good practice catalog” will be created, which will be continuously expanded and further developed based on the experiences of the participating care facilities. In this way, other interested facilities can benefit from them in the long term.
